PDF Quality vs. FraudFindr Output

PDF Quality vs. FraudFindr Output

The quality of the PDF uploaded to FraudFindr is directly related to the quality and accuracy of the output the software will give you.

Low quality scans with data that looks "smudged" or "grainy" will run the risk of delivering low quality data outputs in the program. What this means as a user is that there could potentially be more data cleanup involved with verifying individual transactions are accurate. A common misinterpretation of low quality data is 3's and 5's may look like 8's, or vice versa.

Another potential issue with scans of bank statements is the chance of pages becoming skewed and thus cutting off important data points. If you are using scanned PDFs, make sure all critical data points are in the page view and not cut off, partially or fully. This will make balancing the account increasingly more difficult, if not impossible. An example of this can be found below:

To avoid low quality uploads, we recommend using PDFs that come straight from the financial institution, with minimal to no markup, whenever possible. However, we do understand that sometimes that is not possible. The software will do its best to read the bank statements uploaded, but can yield inaccurate results.
