FraudFindr: Adding Bank Accounts & Transactions

Adding Bank Accounts & Transactions

To add bank accounts and transactions to a case, click “Manage Cases” and select the case you’d like to manage by clicking “Manage Case”. From there, click the “Accounts” tab. Here, you’ll find all the bank accounts that have been added to the case.

To add a new bank account, click the “Add New Account” button. Please note that the accounts you're adding here are BANK accounts, not FraudFindr user accounts.

You’ll be presented with 2 options:

  • Upload PDFs

  • Upload a CSV File

Option 1: Uploading PDFs

Uploading PDFs is the most common way investigators add transactions to a bank account. While we recommend uploading PDFs for one account at a time, you can click “Add New Account”, then “Upload PDFs”, and upload any number of PDFs from one or more accounts. Our system will automatically process them and create the individual accounts found on each statement.

Your PDFs will be converted into transaction data you can manage directly in FraudFindr!

Please note that PDF processing can take a long time depending on how many pages are in each PDF file, so please be patient. Single, small PDF files can process in minutes and multiple large PDF files can take up to 48 hours to process. However, processing times can also vary depending on how many PDF files the system is currently processing.

You can leave the "processing" screen at any time. You'll be notified when the PDF files have finished uploading!

Option 2: Uploading CSV Files

If you’d prefer to upload transaction data via CSV files, use this option. First, you’ll be prompted to create a new bank account or select an account where the CSV transaction data will be added to.

To create a new bank account, click “Create Account” and enter the account information. Click “Add Account”. You’ll then be prompted to upload a CSV file.

Please note that you can only upload one CSV file at a time.

After uploading your CSV file, you’ll be prompted to map the fields in your CSV file to the fields in FraudFindr. If you’re having trouble mapping fields, please read our article on preparing your CSV files for import.

After mapping the fields, click “Import Transaction Data”. Transactions will be added to the account.
